My sweet bride
« on: January 12, 2012, 04:41:03 PM »
My sweet bride lost her battle this morning. I'm including a picture of the little girl who's life she changed. Nanette was an angel put here to make this a better world, and for many she did. I'm the luckiest man ever for having her in my life for the time we had.

I'm so sorry for your tragic loss, Kingshead. I lost my oldest boy four years ago so I know there's nothing anyone can say to ease your pain. I never had the privilege of knowing her but from the photos and everything you've told us, I know she was a beautiful person in every possible sense of the word. My deepest and most sincere sympathies to you and all your friends and family.
Trust me.....I do this all the time! ;)

Marty, you will always have a bed to rest your head on and a bike to borrow to get away from it all if you happen this way buddy.

Your words help more than you can imagine. Thank you Eric, might be sooner than expected.

Martin

Thank you for this, Nanette was a VERY SPECIAL lady. Heather was just one of many special needs children Nanette advocated for, but one that came to be like a daughter to her. In her fight for these children Nanette was able to cause changes in the school system that would positively affect all to come later. Heather in particular, along with her MS was deemed severely mentally handicapped. With her extensive past health issues (strokes etc, Nanette was pronounced brain dead for 6 weeks in the early 90's) Nanette was able to see there was much more to this little girl. This year Heather will be participating in the graduating ceremonies with her class as a student who "earned" her diploma right along side of all the other students. With Nanette's patience and hard work on both of their parts Heather now believes, and rightly so, that she is capable of fighting for, having, and deserving of a full life. We have been unable to come to terms with how to let Heather know of Nanette's passing. Even though they lived on opposite sides of the country the past few years they kept in touch by phone regularly. Their relationship blossomed into something way beyond student and aid. Heather considered Nanette her best friend and shared her teenage life experiences as such. Nanette touched so many people it's impossible to measure the ripple effect her passing will cause. The chasm left where my heart used to be is immeasurable

I am very sorry to hear this.  If there is anything a random internet guy (me) can do let me know.

Martin, it sounds like you really had a special lady in your life. I hope Heather will not take it so hard. I'm sure Nannette was slowly preparing her. You make sure you are taking care of yourself which is real important now.
