ELEPHANTS OF AFRICA RESCUE SOCIETY HOSTS ITS 7TH ANNUAL CAR SHOW AND FAMILY DAY ON JULY 10TH, 2010 AT WILD THINGS IN SALINAS!

Sports cars, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles from all across the central coast and beyond will roll into Salinas, California on Saturday, July 10th, 2010 for the seventh Annual EARS & GEARS Car Show & Family Day. The event is the only car show in the region to combine hot cars and exotic animals and will be held at the Wild Things Animal Park.

Over 150 vehicles are expected to be on display at our beautiful facility overlooking the Salinas Valley. Guests will enjoy guided tours of exotic animals from around the world.  Everyone will have an opportunity to meet an African Elephant face to trunk.  Kids will enjoy bounce houses and interactive games.

The car show is hosted by Elephants of Africa Rescue Society (EARS), a non-profit elephant sanctuary, and all proceeds will help support the sanctuary’s five elephants. Visitors can view the cars from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

This show is not just for the car enthusiast.  The activity driven day provides entertainment for all.  The kids’ area not only has jump houses but also offers games and competitions.  Kids will be presented with ribbons for the different games and competitions during the car show awards ceremony.  The crowd will also be entertained by the Lummas Family’s famous Kite Sky Dancing show throughout the day.

The pre-registration fee to enter a vehicle in the show is $35 per car until June 30. After that date, the fee is $40 per car. Registered participants receive 2 passes to the event and animal tour, an event T-shirt, goodie bag and dash plaque. Vehicles can be registered the day of the show from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. General admittance is $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 & under and includes entrance to the event and animal tour. A no-host BBQ lunch is available for an additional fee.

I was at the 2nd annual. I was showing my vette and my bud was showing his Stang. Lot of nice cars. I'm thinking on this one.

Wasn't planning on taking the vette this time. Not sure if I want to without it. Any chance to show the vette I'm always up for it. Vette hasn't been moved in a while. Too many projects in the way. Beside I promise my self that I was going to stroke the motor when I start racing or driving it again.

Maybe I'll jump in my Super Duty and head on down there. Let me know when you get your Stang up and ready.
